Muli bwanji!

Today was another great day at the Namitambo center. We started the day with an exhilarating motorcycle ride down to the center and were greeted by many excited children. They were busy chanting "Azungu, Azungu" (white people) when we showed up. We then carried on with the last VBS story before we had to say goodbye. We had another busy morning trying to entertain around 400 + children. It is amazing that so many village children are coming to hear from God's Word - only about 150 are from our regular school program.

After this the Pastor took us on an eye opening tour through the village where we got to witness how they actually lived outside of the centers. We visited two homes which were both similar in many ways. Both families lost a fatherly figure and were raising children on their own. The Pastor read a portion from Matthew 5:3 which read; "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" this was truly fitting to both of physical situations, may it also be spiritually. This was very heartbreaking to see 💔

As a wrap up for the week at Namitambo we handed out little gifts we brought for the teachers. They were so happy when they recieved them and really appreciated the games and all the stories we had prepared for them this week. Before it was time to go and say our goodbyes, all the teachers wanted one last photo and of course lots of selfies 🤪

After a long tiring day, we took the hour drive back towards Blantyre where Peter (Timotheos driver) took us to a flea market by Mbulumbuzi. It was really interesting to see the things people were selling. Basically anything they could sell to make a living. From fabric for skirts to fish laying on a board in the hot sun to hair brushes. Many eyes were on us as we walked through the market, most were curious stares and some were uncomfortable stares. But with the help of our beloved driver Peter, we made it through and safely back in the van. After a short drive we made it back to the house where we chilled for the rest of the night. We are exhausted from the busy week but our hearts are full. We are so grateful to God for giving us this opportunity to do our part to help spread the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Zikomo for listening and until next time
