Vocational Training in Malawi

Many young people in Malawi complete secondary school but lack opportunities to continue their education or find meaningful employment. To address this need, the Timotheos Foundation is launching a pilot Vocational Training Program designed to equip youth with practical skills and real-life experience for a brighter future.

What the Program Offers

Students can choose from a range of short courses, including:

  • Mobile Phone Repairing

  • Motorcycle Repairing

  • Hairdressing & Barbering

  • Tailoring

  • Hospitality & Tourism

Each course includes 3–5 months of classroom training followed by an internship, ensuring students gain both knowledge and hands-on skills.

Full Support for Students

All tuition, accommodation, and living expenses are covered. In addition, most graduates will receive a starter pack with the tools and supplies needed to launch their own small business.

Pilot Project Impact

This pilot program will support 14–18 students at a cost of $10,000–$15,000. If successful, the program will expand to give many more young people the opportunity to build sustainable livelihoods and break the cycle of poverty.
